The Magpie and the Little Girl

The Magpie and the Little Girl

Once upon a time, in a quiet forest, there lived a magpie with colorful feathers and a very proud attitude. As it flew between the branches with its black-and-white wings, all the other birds watched it with admiration. The magpie loved this attention and thought it was better than everyone else.

One day, a little girl from the village near the forest went for a walk, holding a small piece of bread in her hand. When the magpie saw the bread, it quickly landed beside her.

“This bread should be mine! I am the most beautiful and elegant bird in this forest!” it chattered.

The little girl smiled.
“I have no reason to give you this bread. But if you want it, you can sing me a nice song.”

The magpie was surprised. No one had ever asked it to sing before! It only boasted about its appearance. It tried to make a few sounds, but instead of a song, only strange noises came out.

The little girl laughed.
“So it seems that being beautiful is not enough.”
For the first time, the magpie felt ashamed. From that day on, it began to learn how to sing from the other birds. Over time, its voice became beautiful, and it amazed everyone with both its looks and its music.

Lesson: Outer beauty is not enough; developing our inner talents is what truly makes us special.

“As the full wheat head bows, the empty one stands tall.”

And so, the story of the Magpie and the Little Girl comes to an end.
